Every Grunt 12 volt Recirculating Sluice arrives
ready to set up and run. All you'll need is a 12 volt
power supply, a bucket, some water and material
to run.
How it works:
The gold bearing material is put into the top tray
where it is washed over a black v mat
and then through the 1/2 inch classifying screen.
Everything over 1/2 inch in size sets on the screen
where you can check them for nuggets before
sweeping them off the end. Everything under 1/2
inch in size is washed through the screen and into
the riffle tray below, finely dropping into a waste
tray. Ths tray sets on the bucket and works like a
strainer, holding the waste material and allowing
the water to drain back into the bucket to be
recycled through the sluice.
This self standing, light weight and portable sluice uses a 1,000
gph, 12 volt submersible pump to recycle water
from a five gallon bucket. Grunt sluice can run on
as little as two gallons of water and Clean water is
as easy as swapping the dirty bucket for a fresh
one.
Let's run a test bucket.
After Bowser set up the sluice and adjusted the slope of the trays, he went over to get some dirt. Bowser likes to pre-classify his dirt with a Grunt Cub Classifier before running it through the sluice. He'll run a metal detector over the tailings from the classifier for nuggets before going home.
Now that he has a bucket of material, Bowser slowly pours it into the hopper. Then he turns off the water and lifts the mat from the upper tray. The mat is then washed off into a gold pan. With a few shakes of his wrist, Bowser knows if this spot is worth working.
Well you can see what we found in that first bucket. That top mat will sure show you if there is any gold in a spot. We will do a clean-up of the lower tray with the deep v mat and 45º riffles at the end of the day.
This sluics ran all day and only used 5 gallons of water.
Not bad, we were happy with the new spot.
